Leadership Learning Environments

GNF.Members

Good News Fellowship has identified three primary means of working towards its vision to empower and network leaders and churches for Jesus-centered ministry.  They are:

– Leadership Learning Environments

– Mission-Driven Partnerships, and

– Relational Accountability

Our very first blog post will deal primarily with the first, though there is much overlap of all three.

Earlier this year, GNF Members (credentialed leaders) met in Greenville, AL for a day of introductions, fellowship, and inspiration.  One of our goals was to learn how we might more effectively connect with each other in the months and years to come.

A Communications Survey was handed out to attempt to gather a collective pulse of how GNF might practically work out it’s desire to create learning options, inspire partnerships, and cultivate healthy relationships within our network.

In compiling the responses to the survey it became clearly evident that we were heading in the right direction with our three identified focus points.

The responses also indicated a definite hunger to grow in a handful of key areas.  They were:

– Leadership (or Personal) Development

– Spiritual Growth

– Prayer

It is very encouraging to realize that GNF is blessed with leaders who have a deep hunger to know God better… to be in an abiding relationship with Jesus Christ.  Yet, their humble posture also indicated weaknesses.  Most want to mature spiritually, as leaders, but maybe more importantly as husbands and fathers.

I was probably most encouraged to see that many want to experience a deeper life of prayer.  It would seem to me that any kind of spiritual work that is birthed in the posture of prayer is a work that will please God.

It is our prayer as leaders of GNF that this place of coming together through the beauty of modern technology will provide the fuel for greater degrees of learning, growth, and relationships.
